investors@brightstead.com→Brightstead is the Integrity Layer for AI — a venture studio building companies on a single shared engine, each one held to the ZH Standard: deterministic AI that refuses to be wrong. What follows is what the engine has produced so far, and what is forming on it next.
GrantAuthority is the first Brightstead company. It is AI grant discovery and application infrastructure for the organizations that need funding the most and rarely have time to chase it — nonprofits, churches, community organizations, small businesses, healthcare, and government including municipalities, law enforcement, and fire.
The grant economy moves trillions of dollars a year, and the pipeline that delivers it is broken at every scale. For the small nonprofit or community organization, discovery is fragmented and applications fall to staff who are already stretched thin. For the large institution — a major nonprofit, a hospital system, a university, a city or county government — the pipeline is staffed but antiquated: full-time grant teams working through brittle databases, generic templates, and verification processes that have not changed in twenty years. The result is predictable. Smaller organizations lose because they cannot afford the army of grant writers wealthier institutions employ. Larger organizations win less than they should because their teams are stuck in an industry that has not modernized.
GrantAuthority fixes the pipeline. It is built on the Brightstead engine, productized into a workflow any organization can run.
At the center of GrantAuthority is AutoGrant™, the automated application engine that carries an organization from discovery through to verified submission.
The largest database of grants, foundations, and grant documents in the world. Active grants, grantmaker intelligence, and the underlying documents that drive funding decisions, continuously refreshed and verified against funder source-of-truth.
Applications referenced to actual grantor requirements and drafted against the organization’s own data, prior submissions, and narrative library. The system writes against the requirements, not against a generic prompt.
Every factual claim in every application is checked against primary sources before submission by the same deterministic engine that powers Search My Data. Hallucinations are caught before they reach the grantor.
Applications are submitted, tracked, and reported on. Outcomes feed back into the engine, making the next application sharper than the last.
GrantAuthority is not a writing assistant with grants data bolted on. It is grant infrastructure built on two foundations that no general-purpose AI tool can match.
First, intelligent search. The largest database of grants, foundations, and grant documents in the world — ingested, managed, and surfaced by AI that finds the right opportunities without inventing ones that do not exist. The system surfaces what a team would miss and refuses to fabricate what is not there.
Second, verified writing. Every application is drafted against actual grantor requirements, and every factual claim is cross-referenced against primary sources before submission. A grant application written by a general-purpose AI is fast and frequently wrong. A grant application written by GrantAuthority is fast and verified.
That combination — intelligent search at the discovery stage and deterministic verification at the writing stage — is the difference between a tool that helps a grant writer and a tool that replaces 600 hours of manual work with 5 hours of supervised output.
GrantAuthority is in market now, scaling through a network of Community Impact Partners — established professionals who sell and service the platform inside the communities they already serve. The product-to-company path is in motion: when GrantAuthority hits the revenue and traction thresholds set by the studio, it graduates into an independent company with dedicated leadership and continued backing from Brightstead.
Search My Data makes everything an organization knows searchable, with AI that does not make things up and does not give the data away. Every answer is checked against the organization’s own documents and points back to the source, so it can be trusted. And the information stays out of public AI services — it is never sent to the systems behind tools like ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini, and never used to train anyone’s AI.
Today’s mainstream AI — the OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google generation of foundation models — produces answers and guesses with equal confidence. These systems are built to predict the most likely next word, not to verify whether it is true. For everyday use, that is fine. For a government setting policy, a law firm filing a brief, a healthcare system coding a diagnosis, or a defense agency producing intelligence, a confident wrong answer is a liability. The problem is built into how those systems work — which is why Search My Data is built differently.
Search My Data is built on that different architecture.
Every claim the engine produces is checked against verified reference data. When it cannot certify an answer, it refuses to return one. No silent hallucination, no plausible-sounding guess.
The engine records how it reached each answer and what it checked against, so its reasoning can be reviewed and verified — never a black box.
A sovereign data layer and verification engine. Classified, regulated, or economically sensitive data can be ingested without exposure to foreign models.
Millions of verification tests already run. No competitor we know of has tested at this scale.
More and more, organizations want what is becoming known as sovereign data — complete, autonomous control over their own information, with no outside party able to see it, hold it, or use it. Search My Data is how an organization gets the intelligence locked inside its data while keeping that control intact: it works with the organization’s own data, inside the organization’s own environment, and the answers never leave it. The more sensitive the information, the more that control matters — and by design, it stays entirely in the organization’s hands.
Built for anyone with information worth protecting — which, increasingly, is everyone. Today that means national governments and the organizations that serve them, the largest firms in law, finance, and accounting, healthcare and research institutions, and founders guarding what they have built. As control over one’s own data becomes the expectation rather than the exception, it will mean far more. If the work is too valuable or too sensitive to hand to a public AI tool, Search My Data is built for it.
Search My Data is in final development. The verification engine beneath it is proven — it powers GrantAuthority in production today and has been tested at scale across multiple domains. Productization into the company’s standalone offering is in progress. Inbound demand is active and substantial, including from national and international-scale buyers. Briefings are confidential.
Two additional companies are in active development on the shared engine, each following the same product-to-company path GrantAuthority is walking now. The first brings the ZH Standard to a consumer-scale product used in everyday life. The second extends that same foundation into an adjacent high-trust category. Details at launch — each new company hardens the engine and makes the next one faster to ship.
